Moskowitz Named to House-Knesset Parliamentary Group
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman Jared Moskowitz (D-FL-23) announced that he has been appointed to the House-KnessetParliamentary Group, a body that brings together selected U.S. and Israeli lawmakers to discuss mutual concerns and strengthen the alliance between their two countries. Its twelve U.S. members are appointed by the Speaker of the House for the duration of the 119th Congress, seven chosen from the majority by the Speaker and five chosen from the minority by recommendation of the Minority Leader.
“A strong US-Israel relationship isn’t just good national and economic security. It’s also deeply personal for so many in our community, including myself,” said Congressman Moskowitz. “I’ve worked throughout my career to uphold that relationship, from successfully leading Florida’s efforts against the BDS Movement in the state house to distributing Jewish security grants across Florida as emergency management director to fighting for this relationship on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. It’s an honor to now be appointed to the House-Knesset Parliamentary Group, where I can partner with colleagues both here in Congress and at the Israeli Knesset to continue the vital work of ensuring our bond is as strong as it can be.”
The House-Knesset Parliamentary Group is tasked with building a broad understanding between elected representatives of the United States and Israel and with establishing initiatives for the countries to work better together. Its members meet at least twice per Congress—once in the United States and once in Israel—and submit to the Speaker of the House a set of recommendations aimed at strengthening the US-Israel relationship.
Moskowitz is a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, where he leads its Subcommittee on Oversight & Intelligence as Ranking Member. He has been an outspoken voice boosting U.S. allies Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan and standing up to foreign adversaries like Russia, Iran, and China.
Already this Congress, he has led efforts to protect Israel from harmful tariffs; ban the federal government from entering into contracts with entities that engage in the Boycott, Divestment, & Sanctions movement against Israel; crack down on martyr payments that incentivize terror against Israel; and more.
