WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Jared Moskowitz (D-Florida) sent two letters to the chairs of three House committees calling for investigations into Gal Luft, the keystone witness House Republicans have touted to validate their Biden family conspiracy theories, and his relationship with members of the Oversight Committee.

An 8-count indictment against Luft was unsealed on Monday, showing that he has been charged with acting as an unregistered foreign agent for China, evading American sanctions against Iran, and lying about these crimes to law enforcement. Moskowitz sent a letter on Wednesday to Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) and Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Alabama), as well as a second letter to China Select Committee Chairman Mike Gallagher (R-Wisconsin) calling on the committees to investigate Luft and his misconduct:

“Based on the serious indictment by the Department of Justice, Americans and my colleagues should be dramatically concerned that the Oversight Committee is enabling and elevating a fugitive Chinese agent and illegal arms dealer who’s doing business with Iran and evading Iranian sanctions. It’s mind-boggling that the Chairman still wants to get testimony from somebody with such little credibility, all so the GOP can continue peddling deranged theories to influence the 2024 election,” Moskowitz said.

Moskowitz currently sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and House Oversight Committee, the latter of which is still actively attempting to get testimony from Luft. The text of the two letters can be found here:
