Moskowitz Announces Millions of Dollars in Public Safety Funding for Broward County
Moskowitz secured over $3.2 million and presented a portion of those funds to Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony today

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Today, Congressman Jared Moskowitz hosted a press conference at the Broward Sheriff’s Office to announce community project funding for public safety in Broward County. Congressman Moskowitz secured more than $10.8 million in community project funds, including $3,269,000 for public safety projects in Broward County. Those projects are:
- $963,000 for the Broward County Real Time Crime Center Expansion (CJS)
- $963,000 for the North Regional Emergency 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) Equipment (CJS)
- $963,000 for the Police Department Body-Worn Cameras and Related Technologies (CJS)
- $200,000 for the Police Park Safety Project (CJS)
- $180,000 for the Security and Safety Technology for Pace Center for Girls, a Juvenile Justice Prevention and Early Intervention Program (THUD)
“The Real Time Crime Center was set up in the wake of the shooting at my high school in Parkland, in part, to prevent another tragedy. I’m proud to announce that I secured nearly $1 million to expand and augment this center. My office also got more than $2 million for additional projects that will strengthen law enforcement and ensure public safety. I’m doing everything in my power to ensure our schools are secure, our law enforcement is equipped, and our communities are safe.” Moskowitz said.
