Moskowitz Calls for Classified Briefing on Haiti
Washington, DC
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) sent a letter to Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Ranking Member Gregory Meeks (D-NY) of the House Foreign Affairs Committee to request the committee hold a classified briefing on escalating violence in Haiti. This call from Moskowitz comes after reports of the U.S. planning to put Marines on the ground in Haiti.
“I am deeply concerned about the recent developments in Haiti, notably the evacuation of our embassy. As a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, I take this news very seriously and want my colleagues and I to receive the information necessary to make policy recommendations on this matter. It’s important that America uses every tool to protect innocent Haitians and end the surge of gang violence,” Moskowitz said.
