Reps. Moskowitz, Mace, and Wild Launch Congressional Dog Lovers Caucus
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Representatives Jared Moskowitz (D-Florida), Nancy Mace (R-South Carolina), and Susan Wild (D-Pennsylvania) announced they are formally starting the Congressional Dog Lovers Caucus (CDLC). The CDLC will serve as an informal, bipartisan group of Members and staff dedicated to their shared love of dogs for the companionship, friendship, family, and health benefits that they provide. In the coming months, the CDLD will aim to hold events on Capitol Hill for Members and staff.
“Dogs are the only thing on earth that loves you more than they love themselves. Their joy to live brings together Americans from all walks of life and can help nourish bipartisanship in Congress. Given recent dog-related news, it’s evident that both sides of the aisle reject animal cruelty andsupport protecting man’s best friend,” said Moskowitz.
“While Congress might disagree on everything, we can all agree that dogs are beloved companions, bringing us all so much joy. We started this caucus to champion legislation that protects the rights and well-being of dogs, ensuring they receive the care, respect, and recognition they deserve,” said Mace.
“Few things unite Americans as much as our love for our dogs. In a time of polarization and partisanship, I’m proud to join my colleagues from both sides of the aisle and commit to working on behalf of our pets, who give us so much joy and comfort every day,” said Wild.
The CDLC does not seek consensus on legislative issues. Instead, it is intended to help its members and staff find common ground and foster bipartisan cooperation in Congress.
