Moskowitz Announces Local High School Students as Winners of the Congressional App Challenge
Washington, DC
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Jared Moskowitz (D-Florida) released the following statement today as two local high school students were announced as winners of the Congressional App Challenge:
“I would like to extend my congratulations to two incredibly bright young minds: Hayden Ferrera and Martin Palencia. While we had some incredible submissions to the Congressional App Challenge this year, Hayden and Martin’s app stood out. This is a significant achievement and a testament to their hard work and the encouragement of their families and teachers,” Congressman Moskowitz said.
The Congressional App Challenge is a district-by-district competition for middle and high school students who design and submit original apps. Since the launch of this program, over 40,000 students across all 50 states have coded for Congress.
Hayden Ferrera attends Boca Raton Community High School, and Martin Palencia attends North Broward Preparatory School. Their app, Eco-Folio, is a financial analysis tool that helps to calculate various metrics for one’s investment portfolio. You can learn more about Hayden and Martin’s app submission here.
